Happy Spring, Readers!
I hope you all had a wonderful April. I had a lot of rest over my month away, lots of family time, I started getting back into crocheting, and I read and read and read. It was glorious.

I did spend some time working on my latest novel. I had been feeling a bit stuck getting back into a writing habit. I took some time to do research as well as giving myself permission to let it go this last month if the words weren’t coming to me. It helped! While the writing is still slow going (only writing on the weekends, really), when I sit down I have been finding it easier to dive back into the world.
One thing that has been fun with finding that inspiration to get writing is a playlist I’ve been curating on Spotify. My daughter prefers to listen to music in the car instead of my boring podcasts and audiobooks, so we’ve been enjoying a mood playlist that really gets the creative juices going. I’ll have to share the list as the book starts to come together and I can finalize those songs that fit the mood. I’ll share my favorite song on the playlist right now, though.

I am proud to say that Marredbury episode 8 is on schedule! (After being a month late, if you can call that on schedule…) I’m currently looking for a narrator for the audio version. Paid subscribers get the additional audio with the short stories that are the most complete.
I’m looking for a male narrator this time, while also getting one other short story ready. There is a minimum rate narrators charge and one short story is often too short to reach that minimum. Narrators charge the minimum whether I fill that time or not, so I try to have at least two short stories ready for the narrators so I am not paying for unused recording time.
We’re approaching the end of this Marredbury season! I’m excited to finish this beta read.

It’s been a while since I’ve shared any book recs. Since I spent so much time reading last month, I thought I could bring this segment back. I don’t have an indie recommendation this time, but I did enjoy Shannon Reed’s new releast, Why we Read. Most of you are all readers here. This was a great collection of essays on the author’s experience teaching across all ages and reading for a lifetime. It was light, entertaining. I usually enjoy talking and reading about reading.
I have a teething baby I need to get back to, so I’ll end this update here. I hope you are all enjoying some beautiful spring weather! This is my favorite time of year. Ignore my complaints of itchiness and the pile of tissues in the trash can. It’s beauitful outside! Pollen won’t break me!
