For today’s rerun, I wanted to share a short story that I shared almost three years ago (where has the time gone!)
I have been quiet this past month and missed an email (for those keeping track), but for a good reason! If you hadn’t heard, I am now Community Manager for the Lunar Awards! I am so excited to be taking on this task, to lift up and get to know indie authors on Substack and outside of the platform. My email writing time has been taken over by plans for community building campaigns. Inspiration has taken me to brainstorming all the possibilities instead of writing regularly scheduled emails. Thank you for bearing with me.
The Lunar Awards was founded by
in 2023. The reigns have since been handed off to (be sure to congratulate Winston on his brand new store front, Enchanted Books). There is one quote that really sums up the inspiration behind the awards:My goal is to highlight independent authors and good writing, hopeful that fiction writers in our midst would gain exposure and notoriety for their stories instead of their tweets. - Brian Reindel
You’ll probably get sick of hearing from me about the Lunar Awards and the awesome support the team brings to the indie community. I will be working hard to bring more to the community through their platform. I love to be busy, haha. And I’m hopeful in my ability to maintain my personal newsletter to all of you and create additional emails for the Lunar Awards. We’ll see how that goes! Wish me luck! And, as always, I’ll keep you updated.
I’ll leave you with this quick update (I’ve got some writing to do!) Please enjoy, Ravenous.
Ravenous
Banished by the gods after toppling empires, a monstrous entity waits in purgatory, feeding only on memory and mist. Now, after centuries of exile, it escapes through a crack in the realm. In a desparate quest to feed, it slithers into the mortal world, unseen and Ravenous. It’s not just hunger driving it… it’s vengeance.
You are indeed The Puppet Master! I like that title better 😄
Oh, lol - I got confused there when I read "I am not Community Manager", but I figure you probably meant "now" instead! 😉
I read in the Lunar Awards last post that you were joining, but I wasn't sure what that meant - so I didn't say anything at the time.
But now that I know more - congratulations and good luck! 😄
