Hi Everyone,
It’s been a week since Son of Horus launched. Honestly, I’m relieved to be going back to my normal schedule of monthly newsletters and a couple weeks of short stories. It feels like a necessary evil to reach out and share the release of a new book. I understand. I’m a very tiny fish in a big sea. How else are readers supposed to hear about my book, but, man, do I not enjoy posting self-promotion posts and sending out several emails in one week! It feels like I’m bugging people. I’m sure it’s all in my head. I wonder if I’ll ever get over the uncomfortable nature of sharing a launch. It would be cool if I could find some joy in it. The third time’s the charm maybe? (I don’t mean to tease, there are no release dates for a third book, but it will be out at some point!)
Anyway, happy to be back on a normal schedule and I’m excited to share some upcoming news :)

Have you had a chance to read Son of Horus? Are you enjoying it? Hating it? I’d love to hear what you think of the book! A great way to support authors is writing reviews. Bring on the feedback and review the book on Amazon, Goodreads, Barnes & Noble or any other place you buy books.
And for those who are local, Booksmart in Morgan Hill, CA will be hosting a launch part for Son of Horus on Nov. 12 at 4 pm. Come by and say hi! There’s a Mexican restaurant right next door. You can make a while evening of it.
In Writing News
Son of Horus has been released and it’s on to the next project. The writing side has been a lot of revisions. Revising isn’t my favorite step, but I’ve been studying and working at it. Learning about the process has made it easier. I feel like I’m starting to get the hang of it. I have a longer short story I’ve been working on few quite a while now, off and on for at least a year, maybe more. I’m excited to see it coming together and to share it with you. Keep an eye out for the first installments of “The Lake House” in your emails this month. The five part series will be released through November and December.
The Santos siblings went to the lake for a relaxing escape, but by the end of their trip it’s a race to escape the vacation home with their lives.
After a tragic accident, Aleksa and Luca Santos hope a trip to the lake they visited as children will help their oldest sister heal. But the house is not how they remembered. The siblings discover their childhood vacations were not as happy as their memories. None of the siblings want to go in the attic and why does the thought of swimming in the lake make Aleksa’s skin crawl?
The sibilings had been away a long time, but the lake has not forgotten them. Tragedy strikes again at the Lake House as the siblings fight to get home.
Part ghost story, part family drama THE LAKE HOUSE is a thrill. Fans of A HAUNTING ON HILL HOUSE and H.P. LOVECRAFT will enjoy this tale of terror.
Indie Highlight
With my work with short stories and serial fiction here on substack, I’ve been searching for authors and stories that I can study and enjoy. Wattpad is a great platform that has grown with the indie author community. I’ve been feeling overwhelmed searching for stories on the platform because there are so many and so many different types of work. Finding the pieces that I enjoy has felt like finding the needle in the haystack at times. I found one though! This has been a fun mystery so far (not done yet). I get Wendy Webb vibes, perfect for these cool fall evenings.

That’s all I have for now. Thank you, as always for your support and Happy belated Halloween! 🎃🎃🎃
