Hi Everyone,
I feel like I’m the groundhog poking his head out and squinting in the almost summer sunlight (minus Bill Murray, unfortunately).
I’m excited to get back to regularly posting and sharing my work with you all. I’ve got a lineup of work planned for you all. Now I just have to write it…
As the newborn fog lifts, my writing and reading life has transformed (go figure!) I’m chipping away at my various writing projects and handwriting my work more. I can write one-handed while the baby is in my other arm, and handwriting gives me a break from screens (so much screentime!) My hand is sore, but it feels good to be writing again.
With reading, I’m finding myself struggling with fiction. Perhaps it’s the piecemeal way I read now, five minutes here, ten minutes there, with the occasional thirty minutes (without falling asleep!) Even with audio, I’ve been struggling to focus on novel-length works with my mushy baby brain. Since I can’t seem to make it through a novel, I’ve been reading more short stories and nonfiction.
Has any other new parent had a shift in their reading life? Their writing life? I’d love to hear about your experience.
I’m going to finish up so I can finish before my little one wakes up from her nap. I’m thrilled to be getting back! I missed everyone 😊

Check out these indie authors’ work for free. I like these giveaways to find new authors. Have fun book shopping. These giveaways end on May 31st.
Posts you may have missed
That’s all I have for you this time. Before I leave, I have another cat picture for you. I think Doug is warming up to baby girl. She has discovered her car seat recently. She enjoys laying it more than the baby.
