Hi Everyone,
I hope you are enjoying the start of the fall season! My family went to the pumpkin patch last weekend, the first time for baby girl. It was a lot of fun and she now has a tiny pumpkin to play with at home.

Going back to work after being on maternity leave for six months has really kicked me on my ass! Honestly, writing is getting done when it can, but more often is being dreamed about. Deadlines, like the monthly Marredbury posts and the writing groups I am a part of have been really helpful in keeping me mostly productive. There’s a lot of learning going on with time management and just letting things go.
For example, you may or may not have noticed that the frequency of my emails to you has slowed. Most of the non-fiction writing I’ve been doing for Substack hasn’t made the cut right now. I hope to bring it back when another season of my life begins, but during baby season, it’s not going to happen. My list of short stories to review is going to get so long!

Marredbury episode 4 will be out this month. Now that I’ve got a few episodes out that I can share, I plan on doing just that. Revising and preparing the Marredbury episodes and marketing are the two goals I have for myself right now. This past weekend I compiled a list of reviewers and passionate readers to reach out to about the serial anthology. Wish me luck!
Finally, I’d like to thank Tessa for her thoughtful review of Son of Horus!
Reviews are so important for authors. Reader recommendations helps new readers find books that they will love. Reviews (the good and the bad) inform readers on whether the book is something they’ll enjoy or not. Review wherever you read your books. It all helps!
Indie Highlight
I feel like I’m late to a party, but I recently discovered a platform called Bargain Booksy. I went back and added it to my “Indie Author Found Here” post where I list all the ways you can find indie authors.
Bargain Booksy is a platform where authors can share their on sale or inexpensive ebooks. They clear the books for quality and send out regular emails listing ebooks in the genres you sign up for. I don’t open every email they send me because I know that I’ll find at least one more book to purchase and collect dust on my e-reader because there is just not enough time to read all the books! This has been a favorite of mine to find new authors that I’ll enjoy.
Daughter of Isis will be included in their October 16th Fantasy & Paranormal email. Sign up and check it out! Or just go check out Daughter of Isis. The price won’t change between now and the 16th, so you don’t need to wait.
A book I discoverd on Bargain Booksy is my Indie Highlight this month: Monster by Roh Morgon. This is a prequel to The Chosen series. I’ve been having a lot of fun reading about Sunny and whatever is watching her. Check it out!
That’s all I have for you today. What are you all reading for the spooky season? My reads have been lighter right now (unless Monster takes a darker turn than I’m anticipating, I won’t be mad about that!) When I get done with the stack I’m working on now, I think I need to find something that’ll scare me on Halloween.
